Mid-Century Abode: Add-on Bedroom Set

It was about time I did another bedroom. There was too many slim pickings with cc i have made that worked well and I have only done a few bed frames too. The thing that held me back was the bedding. Maxis bedding sucks, full stop. Its flat and unattractive, but I hate decor blankets because they don't animate, so are really only good for picture-taking rather then normal gameplay. I finally figured out how to re-mesh the bedding into a more pleasing shape, so expect future bedrooms to use this same bedding. Maybe one day I will get around to doing single beds, but that's not a priority for me.

Due to the length of these posts and for ease of updating, you can find the download and info under the cut.

Information you need to know:

  • You need both the left and right reading lights, and the sunrise and sunset mirrors ingame for textures to show since i linked them between the packages.
  • The bedding is fully animated just like Maxis bedding, but looks way comfier.
  • The bench seat is technically a loveseat
  • The geometric sculptures are all one size (the smallest) but enlarge well to give varying size items to decorate with

  • All custom content is mine, so feel free to browse through my downloads to find it. The curtains however are unreleased at this time.
Now, there are 2 download types; one for separate packages and one with all items merged. The archives contains the package file(s) and style images inside a folder. Extract the archive using winRAR or WinZip, place the package file(s) in your mods folder, then look for them in your game. I hope you enjoy.

I have also uploaded the files individually. There will be no alternate download for these individual files.

    1. Could be a number of reasons. Best bet is to check the "Installing Content" link at the top of my blog.

    3. Ok so I checked out your Installing Content thing and I updated Origin and the Sims 4 was already up to date. The cc is on and I have other working cc, just not yours. I don't have the files in a zip file either because I double click it, opening it and cut it out of the folder and paste it into the mods file. It worked before I just don't understand why it's not working now. I tried to download the Shaker Kitchen which I had before but it's not working. What am I missing?

    4. If you have the files in a sub folder, try moving them out of that. The cfg file may only be set up to 'see' so many sub folders. I know this content works in other people's games has I have seen it many times already, so it is something that has happened on your end, either from the mods folder set up, or even the file not downloading properly. It is hard to pinpoint an issue as a lot of the reasons why content doesn't show is due to system-specific issues.

    5. Is there another way to extract files?? Like a way where I don't have to download anything??

    6. No, windows doesn't come with an in-built archive extractor, not that i know of. If you don't want to download a program to extract, there is no other way and you will need to download the items individually through the last link in the post.

  10. May I ask what curtains you use in these pictures? They look so nice! I have trouble finding good looking curtains that is functional with the higher wall settings.. Always end up using the same ones.

  12. this is just beautiful! Unfortunately, these bedroom set files don't work for me either, tried downloading both the merged and individual files. previous CC objects from here work fine, it's this bedroom set, the brick doorway set and the Shaker Kitchen. there are no subfolders, eveything is extracted etc. not sure what the reason is. :(

    1. The only thing I can think of is perhaps downloading messed up the package files. I know the items work as they appear in other people's games so it has to be something specific on your side that's causing issues. Perhaps try downloading some of the items individually and see if they show up in your game.

  17. I love all of your stuff (and have downloaded it all). Hope you make something new soon. No one makes stuff that looks so good and work so good in the game. EA should hire you to make the furniture to the game! Thank you, thank you!

  18. Thanks so much! This is so, so beautiful! I love the mid-century style and thanks to you my houses are full of it. Will you be doing an add-on of this style for toddlers?

    1. Thanks! As for a MCM toddler set, probably not, I would focus on more child-like designs for toddlers, if or when I get time.

  19. These new bedding meshes are absolutely gorgeous. Since I installed them, I can't use anything else because they just look so bland in comparison. The whole set is wonderful, but the bedding is a real stand-out item. Thanks so much!

  20. Hey there,

I have a question. I downloaded almost all of your CC, apart from CAS/clothing, so all the buy/build stuff. My question is would it be okay to merge all of it together into 1 single file (using the merge feature in s4s), including the already-merged version of most of your sets? Would everything still work and show up in the game?

    1. I am no expert on merging, but if I were you I wouldn't have any merged files greater then 200-300MB in size. I would also no merge files that have already been merged; download the separated versions just incase something messes up. Also, keep an unmerged copy of everything you merge. it will save you time in the long run if you need to remove something down the track.
